Inspired by the natural beauty and sustainable practices of the region, we set out to create a gin that captures the essence of South African heritage.

Our rooibos-infused gin is a result of a meticulous craftmanship. We carefully select the finest rooibos leaves and delicately infuse them into our premium gin. The process brings forth the disitinct notes of rooinos, creating a beverage that is both familiar and refreshingly unique.

South African Heritage

What is Rooibos, and where is it cultivated?

Rooibos, also known as “red bush”, is a popular herbal beverage derived from the leaves of the Rooibos plant (Aspalathus linearis). It is exclusively cultivated in the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa, a region renowned for its unique climate and nutrient-rich soil.

Why is the Cederberg Mountains ideal for Rooibos cultivation?

The Cederberg Mountains provide a remarkable combination of factors that are essential for Rooibos cultivation. The region’s high altitude, well-drained slopes, and temperate climate with distinct seasons create an optimal environment for the Rooibos plant to thrive.

How is Rooibos cultivated in the Cederberg region?

Rooibos cultivation begins with the planting of Rooibos seeds during the spring. The plants take about 18 months to mature before they can be harvested. Once ready, the leaves and stems are hand-harvested and then processed through methods like bruising, fermentation, drying, and cutting. These processes are carefully controlled to preserve the tea’s flavor and aroma.

We collaborate with local farmers, supporting the communities that have nurtured this exceptional plant for generations. This also ensures the highest quality rooibos leaves
